Aston Martin Livery Review

Aston Martin unleashes its 2022 challenger in a beautiful and iconic British racing green.

Finally, our first look at a proper 2022 car. I have to say that the Aston may be the best looking car yet?

Aston Martin launched their 2022 car on the 10th of February in a laser filled launch at the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon.

Many were in attendance, none other than CEO of Aston Martin, Lawrence Stroll himself, who is planning for world championship glory as part of a “5-year plan”

The car itself has a slightly different tint of British racing green this season and looks amazing under the lights of the Aston Martin showroom. Also without the sponsorship of BWT, the car has reverted to Aston Martins original racing lime green accents.

But what was different to this launch prior to the others, was the fact that this was a real-life 2022 car, not just photos or a 2022 model, the living breathing machine.

What is most striking is the “shark-gill” slits on top of the side pods. This could be for an aerodynamic advantage or a cooling one, but it is yet to be seen.

As seen in the AMR 22’s shakedown at Silverstone yesterday, the front wings are a lot higher up than the last iteration of F1 car, as well as the larger, new 18-inch Pirelli tires.

So does Aston have a chance?

It’s incredibly difficult to say who is going to be quicker this year. With so many teams finding new and different solutions to the same problem, we will have to see which team’s solution has worked.

All in all Aston Martin will be hoping for a much better year than in 2021, with most fans hoping for a Sebastian Vettel resurgence.
